Events Coordinator Hotel, City Centre, Birmingham
KSB Recruitment are looking for an experienced Events Coordinator to work in a modern city centre hotel in the heart of Birmingham. The venue offers a variety of conference options, afternoon tea and a lovely brasserie that features a contemporary menu. This position is Monday to Friday 9.00 – 5.30 however you may be required to work the odd evening or weekend. Ideally you will have been in a similar role previously. This is a great opportunity and one not to be missed.
The role:
- Reporting directly to the General Manager
- Responsible for managing all incoming business in relation to events and to make certain that service excellence is delivered at times.
- Revenue generation specifically in terms of conference and events and to surpass agreed budget and exceed targets.
- To maximise all booking and ensure follow through from sales and event handover to end of booking/event, plus follow up.
- To plan, organise, direct and control the conference and events operation and administration.
- To actively generate and manage new events into the hotel
- To promote the hotel, manage and deliver all social media, and marketing, including wedding fayres etc
- To be responsible for the website, updates, photos and written content
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Able to work under pressure
- Very good organisation and planning skills
- Fantastic attention to details
- A flexible attitude to the demands of a hospitality business
- Able to work weekends if required (will be given time off in the week for any weekend work)
- Sales focussed
- Previous experience of using Opera Hotel System
