Area Support Manager
Location: Cheshire (Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent & Surrounding Areas)
Salary: £27,097 per annum
Contract: 42 Weeks Per Year (38 School Weeks + 4 Additional Weeks)
Hours: 38–40 Hours Per Week
KSB Recruitment is working with a well-established and growing contract catering provider to recruit an experienced Area Support Manager to support school catering operations across Cheshire and the surrounding areas.

The Role
As Area Support Manager, you will work closely with the operational management team to ensure the smooth delivery of catering services across a portfolio of education sites.
This is a varied multi-site role that combines operational support, people development, and hands-on catering responsibilities. You will provide cover for Catering Managers when required, support site teams, assist with training, and help maintain service standards across multiple locations.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Supporting the operational management team across multiple education sites
- Covering Catering Manager absences when required
- Providing hands-on cooking support and kitchen leadership
- Conducting regular site visits and maintaining service standards
- Supporting training and development of site-based teams
- Assisting with compliance, food safety, and operational procedures
- Leading and supporting a small mobile team
- Building strong relationships with school stakeholders and catering teams
Travel between sites forms an important part of this role, with mileage paid from home.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a similar catering support, supervisory, or management role
- Experience within education catering, contract catering, or a multi-site environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A proactive and self-motivated approach
- The confidence to make decisions and support teams effectively
- A flexible, hands-on attitude with a willingness to step in where needed
- Food Preparation qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds Level 1 or 2 (preferred)
