About Us:
We're recruiting on behalf of an independent artisan bakery in Chatham, specialising in sourdough bread and French laminated pastries. Everything is made from scratch, with no shortcuts, and the business is expanding with a second site opening nearby. This is a genuine opportunity to join a small, quality-focused team as they grow.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Producing sourdough bread, baguettes and buns to a strict, consistent method
- Handling large volumes of dough as part of daily production
- Supporting laminated pastry production alongside bread
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and bakery organisation
- Working independently once fully trained, including solo Sunday shifts
Requirements or Skills:
- Proven experience in artisan or production baking, ideally with sourdough
- Must drive, due to early start times
- Physically fit, as the role involves demanding manual work
- Reliable and consistent, with a genuine passion for scratch baking
- Comfortable working early morning shifts (starting between midnight and 1am)
