Bakers – New Opening

Salary: £32,000–£35,000 per annum

Role

Join a growing independent food business as it prepares to open its newest site in Cardiff. With four established sites already operating in Nottingham, the business is now expanding into Wales and looking for two Bakers to join its opening team, including one baker to take on a lead role.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an expanding independent business, helping establish a new site while producing freshly made bagels, sweet treats and other food items.

The role is hands-on and varied, combining baking, bagel production and general kitchen preparation, with training and support from the established bakery team to ensure consistency across the business.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake fresh bagels to the business's recipes and standards.

• Produce in-house sweet treats, including brownies and cookies.

• Assist with kitchen preparation, including sauces, meat preparation and vegetables.

• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.

• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food hygiene standards.

• Work collaboratively with the team to support smooth daily operations.

• For the lead baker position, help oversee production and support the wider team.

Requirements

• Previous baking experience, ideally including bagels.

• Experience preparing baked goods such as brownies and cookies.

• Good general kitchen skills, including food preparation and cooking.

• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices.

• Reliable, organised and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn the business's methods.

• For the lead position, the confidence to take responsibility and support colleagues.

Rewards

• £32,000–£35,000 per annum to start.

• Permanent, full-time opportunity.

• Early finishes, with weekday shifts generally running from 6:30am to 1:30–2:00pm. Earliest starts may be from 5:30am.
