Job: Temporary Lead Chef – Care Home (Immediate Start)
Location: South Kendal, Cumbria
Contract Type: Temporary ongoing
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £19.00 per hour
About the Role:
KSB Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Lead Chef / Care Home Chef for a residential care setting near Milnthorpe. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef looking for daytime hours, a supportive working environment, and ongoing temporary work with the potential for additional shifts throughout the year.
The Role:

Preparing fresh, nutritious meals for residents

Catering for both traditional and texture-modified/pureed diets

Working independently as the only chef in the kitchen, with support from a Kitchen Assistant

Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
-
Managing stock and ensuring meals meet dietary requirements

Delivering a quality dining experience for residents
Shift Details:

Immediate start available
-
9:00am – 5:00pm shifts

Alternative weekdays and weekends
-
Part-time contract, initially around 2 shifts per week

Additional shifts likely available for holidays and sickness cover
Requirements:
-
Previous experience as a Chef, Senior Chef, or Lead Chef
-
Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (essential)

Valid DBS Certificate (essential)

Strong understanding of food hygiene and health & safety

Ability to work independently and manage a kitchen confidently
