Carehome Chef - Worcestershire

Location: Bromsgrove Worcester, UK

Pay Rate: £16 per hour

Contract type: Temporary

Hours: Between 25 - 40 hours per week

We provide tailored support for older adults, including specialist dementia and nursing care, with a focus on dignity, respect, and enhancing quality of life. Our dedicated team works closely with residents and their families to create a safe, engaging environment where everyone feels valued and at home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare nutritious, appetising meals that meet the dietary needs of elderly residents, including soft food and specialist diets.  

• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed, maintaining a clean and compliant kitchen environment.   

• Manage kitchen inventory and supplies, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimising waste.    

• Adapt meals for individual dietary requirements, such as diabetic, low-sodium, or allergen-free options.   

• Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents’ health and well-being through thoughtful meal planning and presentation.  

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess:

• Proven experience as a care home cook/chef.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• A commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene

• A DBS (ideally enhanced) 

• a full understanding of Dietary needs
