Chef de Partie - Essex

Location: Canvey Island, Essex, UK Canvey Island
Salary: £14–£16 per hour + shared tips (£29,120 - £39,936 annually)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time | Approx. 40–48 hours per week | Includes weekends

Chef de Partie – Fresh Food Gastro Pub | Canvey Island

Are you a talented Chef de Partie ready to join a busy, high-performing fresh food kitchen where quality, teamwork, and passion drive everything?

This successful independent gastro pub on Canvey Island is looking for a strong CDP to support its growing kitchen team during an exciting period of continued growth.

Working under an experienced, rosette-awarded Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering consistently high standards in a fresh-food environment built on traditional cooking principles.

 

About the Role

As Chef de Partie, you’ll take ownership of your section and help deliver exceptional food during busy service periods.

This kitchen is fast-paced, demanding, and entirely fresh-led, ideal for a chef who thrives under pressure and takes pride in quality.

You’ll join a collaborative brigade where everyone gets involved, supports one another, and works together to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and manage your own kitchen section
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality fresh food consistently
  • Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards
  • Support junior chefs and encourage team development
  • Assist with ordering, prep planning, and stock control
  • Work efficiently during high-volume service periods
  • Contribute to menu consistency and kitchen standards

 

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a skilled, dependable CDP who leads by example and enjoys working in a genuine team environment.

You’ll be calm under pressure, quality-focused, and committed to delivering great food every service.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi CDP
  • Strong fresh food background essential
  • Ability to manage a section independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible approach to evenings and weekends
  • Own transport preferred due to location
  • Full right to work in the UK
