Head Chef – Established Country House Hotel
Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Head Chef to join a well-established country house hotel in the North Lincolnshire area.
This independently operated hotel offers a busy and varied environment, combining a popular restaurant with weddings, conferences and private events. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of the kitchen, build a strong brigade and play a key role in the continued success of the business.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will lead all aspects of the kitchen operation, maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and organisation across both the restaurant and events departments.
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day kitchen operations, overseeing food hygiene standards, controlling costs, managing rotas and developing a positive and productive kitchen culture.
About You
We are looking for a chef who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or an accomplished Senior Sous Chef ready to step into their first Head Chef position.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational ability and the confidence to coordinate multiple events simultaneously.
- Sound commercial awareness, including stock control and GP management.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene certification or above.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
Practical experience within hotels, event venues or busy fresh-food operations would be highly advantageous. Also experience within weddings and conferences is desirable.

Package
- Salary of £38,000 – £40,000 DOE.
- Tips/Tronc of on average £800 per annum
- 28 days annual leave.
- 40 hour contract
- Time off in lieu where applicable.
- Temporary live-in accommodation may be available for an initial period if required.
Working Pattern
- One regular closure day each week.
- Weekend working is expected as part of the role.
- Flexibility within the rota, with days off scheduled during the week.
