Junior Sous Chef - Nottinghamshire


Location: Nottingham City Centre
Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum + approx. £500/month gratuities
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 45 hours per week (4-day working week)

About the Restaurant

This critically acclaimed restaurant is located in the heart of Nottingham city centre and offers a fast-paced, open-kitchen environment. With a focus on quality, consistency, and fresh flavour, the team is committed to delivering exciting, high-standard dishes while maintaining a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.

What We Offer

● Competitive salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum
● Monthly gratuities: Approximately £500 per month
● 4-day working week (3 service shifts + 1 prep shift)

Key Responsibilities

● Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
● Lead sections during service and step up in Sous Chef’s absence
● Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and safety standards
● Mentor junior chefs and support their growth
● Assist with ordering, stock control, and prep schedules
● Contribute to new dish ideas and seasonal specials

Requirements

● Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen
● Previous experience as a strong CDP or Junior Sous Chef
● Excellent understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
● Calm under pressure with a solutions-focused approach
● Passionate about food and eager to develop further
● Experience with Asian cuisine is a bonus, but not essential
