About Us:
This well-established holiday destination located near Dartmoor National Park in Devon. The resort operates year-round, catering to between 200–500 guests per service, with peak periods reaching up to 2,000 covers per day across both sites.
The kitchen operates a buffet-style service, focusing on high-volume, process-driven food production rather than plated service. Menus are consistent and run in cycles, allowing for efficient preparation and reduced pressure during service.
The brigade consists of 20+ chefs with exceptional staff retention. The leadership team is highly experienced, hands-on, and supportive, contributing to a stable and positive working environment.
What We Offer:

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook for high-volume buffet service (e.g. full English)
- Assist with preparation of sauces, gravies, and components for lunch and dinner service
- Support the production of large-scale buffet items across all services
- Maintain consistency and efficiency in a process-driven kitchen
- Ensure food hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation standards are upheld
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team across both resort sites
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Breakfast Chef, Second Chef, or similar role
- Experience in high-volume or large-scale catering environments (e.g. hotels, resorts, contract catering, military, events)
- Comfortable working in a repetitive, process-driven buffet operation
- Reliable with strong attendance and timekeeping (essential for breakfast shifts)
- Hardworking, efficient, and able to work at pace
- Positive attitude and strong team player
- Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts
- Driving licence/vehicle highly desirable due to rural location
