KSB Recruitment is looking for a Senior Sous Chef to work in a luxury hotel in the heart of Derbyshire. The venue is nestled in 35 acres of wonderful gardens, wild meadows, and woodland. This beautiful location has recently had a £9 million refurbishment, including a brand-new Kitchen, which offers a seasonal menu! This is a perfect homely retreat for friends and families. The role is suitable for a chef looking to progress their career into a Head Chef Role. This luxury hotel won GQ Magazine and Times Hotel of the Year.
The role:
- Cooking seasonal food with a modern British twist to a high standard
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen
- Ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
- Using freshly grown herbs from the estate's very own kitchen garden
- Experience in dealing with guests as required to cook outside for woodland feasts
- Bringing new ideas and trends to the business and achieving tangible cost-effective results
- A positive attitude and ability to create a buzz in the kitchen to keep the team motivated
- Delivery and production of quality food for events and weddings, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customer
Requirements:
- Excellent time management skills
- Worked in equivalent 2-rosette standard
- Willing to work well as part of a team
- Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment
- Have detailed knowledge of classical and modern cooking techniques
- Be able to work under the highest of pressures delivering food to a high standard
- Previous experience working in busy restaurants would be ideal
